Decays treatment

The tooth decays is multifactorial disease of the tooth.

It manifests when the bacteria create a sticky layer called plaque over your teeth. When it is not removed EVERY DAY it can cause damage of the surface of the tooth and create a cavity. This cavity is called “tooth decay”.

The treatment of the tooth decay is a conservative treatment and consists on cleaning the damaged surface and replacing it with the most adequate and biocompatible restorative material.

The rubber dam is a field we use to provide good quality treatment by isolating the tooth from saliva, blood and to isolate your mouth environment from our tools.

Why is it important ?

Nowadays, the restorative materials are bonded to the tooth surface and this particularity makes them very sensitive to humidity (Saliva and blood).

In order to achieve the best bonding strength and long lasting stability, the working environment must be dry.

That is why the rubber dam is our friend :)
